I got my first Chinese Crested hairless dog in 2004. I thought I was completely prepared for a hairless dog/puppy. I have read every book I got my hands on and spent countless hours on the internet looking up the Chinese Crested dog breed. I was not prepared for the confusion on the skin care for them. I email many owners and even breeders of this breed and they all had no real answers or solutions for the skin issues I was have with Ally. It seemed the more money I spent on her skin, the worse it got. The more products I tried, the more I problems I caused. I was getting very frustrated.
I decided to get rid of all the greasy, half used, bad smelling, products I had bought over the first year or so I had Ally, and start over. I did my research and began to formulate a lotion that was water based, and smelled nice. I had lots of misses, before I found a recipe that worked for Ally. I then set out to developed a wash that worked with the lotion, not against it. When I had done that, I added a astringent spray and the Ally Oops chinese crested skin care systems were born. That simple.
This is a simple and easy skin care system to use. First clip your dog with a electric clipper. Then put the dog into the tub and wet him/her down with warm water. Use the body wash to work up a lather and then shave your dog with a Mach III razor. I use the Mach III, but you can use any brand razor you like. I lather, shave and repeat untill the dog is hair free where I want her to be. Then I lather up again with the body wash and I use the exfoliating mitt on her/him. I rub very carefully as to not hurt her/him. If you scrub to hard, she/he will get flaky skin and it will be tender, so you must rub with the mitt softly. I do not use the mitt on him/her face belly or rear end. When I am done with the mitt, I rinse, rinse, rinse, with warm water. I towel dry and lightly spray him/her with the astringent spray. Do not spray on face or near eyes or rear end. I then let him/her air dry, I do not dry off the astringent spray. I let her run like a nut and rub on the carpet. She loves to roll and act like a crazy dog after her bath. When she is completely dry, I rub a small amount of the body lotion on her. That's it....your done. You now have a great looking, great feeling, and great smelling Chinese Crested.

This system works for most crested on a few levels. First, the products were formulated to work together or separately. They will work together .......not against each other. When using other products at the same time, you are only making the skin issues worse. My system takes the guess work out of when to use the products, what products to use, and how to use them. This system will clean the skin without drying it. It will moisturize the skin without making it oily, and it will clean the skin deep into the pores so your crested will have less breakouts. This system has a simple base with water scents so it is less likely to irritate the skin.
